Annie and Jude Go Live at the Lake

We are on the road! The 1st of September marked an important date in the adventures of Annie and Jude - our first off site booking! We were delighted to be invited to provide catering for the European & African +35 Water Skiing Championships at South Lake in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

With Jude now fully restored it was all systems go for our vintage food and bar vans! Annie and Jude set off down the A1 for their inaugural joint journey. First stop was for fuel, if you look closely at the picture, you can spot Simon (we call him Little Simon as we have two Simons on the team!). He has worked tirelessly over the last few months and has lovingly restored Jude to his former glory. So you can understand if Simon doesn't let Jude out of his sight for too long!

We had a six day hire booking at South Lake to provide food to the competitors, spectators and officials. We worked with the organisers to design and provide a menu that fitted the bill - lots of fuel for hungry water skiers!

As we had an international crowd, we also decided to share some traditional British fare - Irena's famous scones with clotted cream and jam. These were a big hit, especially with the French and Swedish skiers!

Our team worked their socks off over the six days! Lots of cooking from Chef Simon and Irena and from Greg, Sophia and Little Simon on service. On the final day, Greg had his son Bene helping out - we believe in recruiting team members early!

We loved our first event and met a lot of inspiring people who get such a buzz out of skimming across the water whatever their age! It's been our dream to take our vintage vans on the road and deliver our innovative food and drinks service in the great outdoors. Thanks to all at South Lake who provided such a great opportunity to support this event.

Finally, thanks to Annie and Jude who embraced the challenge and came up trumps! They are now back at base taking a breather and getting ready for their next events. Annie is off to the "Twisted Iron - The Happening" festival in Little Missenden, Bucks this weekend and Jude is catering at a wedding in Moggerhanger Park, Beds.
